The Aftershock

After a 12 hour day, including 4 hours of dialysis I got home only for my heart to bounce out of control once again. Just like halloween night. We made the decision, amublance was called. 3 of them arrived.

Next thing I know it they were yelling 'code 3 obitan!' with sirens screaming, on the way to VGH where I just was.

Heart racing. No time this time, out came the shock pads. Everyone was confident. Megan and JJ were asked to leave. The last thing I said to myself was "do or die". And BOOM. They said I wouldn't remember, but I remember. I remember saying "holy shit". I dont remember the next 15 minutes, but my heart was stable.

Spent the last 24 hours in emergency, and have just been moved back up to the transplant ward….

You are one amazing man, Chad. I'm glad you were able to write tonight and hope you have a somewhat restful night. Seems you had more confidence in this "shocking" than the one they wanted to give you at Lion's Gate. We all so happy it worked. You're in all our prayers, my friend. Good Night

DUDE!! Are you kidding me?? You've been in my thoughts. The troops are behind you!! Wish I could give you a hug and a pinch on the butt....London, ON is a long way from our old stomping grounds. Your strength is inspiring and amazing. Hope someone is bringing some Cactus wings for you today:)

While I am pretty close to being at a loss for words, a couple comments from you and Megan in the past couple of days sums it up for me: 1) Holy shit! 2) You are crazy!

Holy shit speaks for itself given the sequence of events you have recently endured, but you are a crazy dude being able to do what you do...keeping your humor intact no less.

I am thankful that JJ was there, and as always, that Ms. Megan was the rock by your side.

This is another step, buddy. One at a time. Well done!

you are grace under fire Chad..a class act all the way! I've said it once I'll say it again, if my son turns out to be half as courageous as you are then I've done my job as a parent. Keep the faith, big hugs to you and Meg.

    Hi Chad,

I just want you to know that I think about you everday, sending you good thoughts and positive energy. And so is my entire family. Try as you may...you'll never get rid of the Kimmett's ;)

I feel like I've known you forever...well at least since our West Van High days driving around in the Citation (god that car was hideous ;) or watching you help my dad "try" to build the cabin (my dad still makes fun of your hammering skills!) Even then I knew you were special and you are proving that everyday. Your strength and determination are incredible and inspirational.

You are surrounded by so many people that love you and want the best for you. Give Megan lots of hand squeezes...she deserves them. What a girl you found! Stay strong.

    Love,
    Natalie
