Donate blood

First the cancer, and then the treatments, destroy a patient’s healthy blood cells and makes them weak and vulnerable to infections. Chad had hundreds of transfusions over the years to keep him going. One blood donation can save up to three lives.

Chad was lucky enough to have one anonymous donor donate bone marrow to him - twice. We are forever grateful for the 9 years that man’s generosity gave us with Chad.

Consider hosting an event and donating the proceeds to the Hematology Research Program in memory of Chad. Big or small, an event is a great way to raise awareness about multiple myeloma and some funds to help find a cure.

Spread the word

This clever campaign from the United Kingdon explains why it is so important for everyone to share information the symptoms of myeloma, especially with their doctors.

Take 2 Campaign - making a difference with early diagnosis from Myeloma UK on Vimeo.

Twenty per cent of myeloma patients die within two months of diagnosis because they were diagnosed too late.  Doctors may not recognize the symptoms because they only see a couple of cases in their career and many believe it is a disease only seen in elderly patients.

Download Myeloma UK's diagnosis pathway to share with your doctor.
